Editorial

This is a time of great changes. In education too we see fast changes. The student today is an individual, is a real person with feelings of self-respect, sensitivity, responsibility and compassion. We need to recognize, appreciate, applaud and foster the fine blend of sensibilities in a child – and thus this Patrika is to be viewed as a launch pad for the children’s creative urges to blossom naturally. As the saying goes, mind like parachute works best when opened.  This humble initiative is to set the budding minds free allowing them to roam free in the realm of imagination and experience to create a world of beauty in words.

This school attains its eminence in the first place through the achievement of children.  This has been given enough print space in the Patrika.  This Patrika also espouses the School spirit which is built up within the school through the collective actions, thoughts and aspirations.  All these, I believe would spur higher growth and enterprise in children.

My thanks are due to the Principal, editorial board, students and teachers to have been of immense help in breathing life into these pages.

Good Luck.

What is life?

Something we live..

But just to live
Is not life..
Life has emotions
Both happy and sad
But just emotions
Is not life..
Success and failures
Is the way of life.
It makes life complete
But its just a way
Not life..
Love and respect
The main element of life
Makes us to lead life
But just this
Is not life
Then,
What is life?
We don’t know
But we still live it
This question
Remains a question
That’s why life is?

Life has snatched everything from me…
Now its “I am” not “we”.
My deadline is over running …
But I have task to complete.
My memory is enable to compete.
A furious virus had undertaken my RAM
I feel like I am a traffic jam.
My processor management system is
Under maintenance.
This is a question of my sustainance.
I am not degraded without confidence.
Why there is job scheduling.
My compact disc is empty.
My operating is lacking vigour.
I have to increase the voltage.
I am sure I can remove the virus.
My mind is a computer.. no brain, heart,
Emotion, love, life, bias, laugh and tears…
Let me delete all these into the recycle bin.
Then I can come up with vibrant spectrum.
Then I will love my life’s programe.

She is like the flower,
That blooms throughout the year.
She is that precious gem,
I might lose, I fear.
She brought a smile on my face,
She helped me in my life’s race.
She cheered me up with her beautiful song,
She always guided me in the right path,
For I believed that she can never be wrong.
She gave me courage,
She made me bold.
And I just know one thing,
That, she has a heart of gold.
She changed my attitude,
She completely changed me.
Into what Iam today,
And what I will tomorrow be.
Oh, my dear sister!
I owe you so much.
But you still keep on giving me,
Your smooth touch.
Often, when I miss you,
Falls a tear drop or two.
I feel like holding you in my arms,
And never let you go with my splendid charms.
You were, you are and
You‘ll always be my best friend.
Let this bond of love between we sisters,
Never end.

One fine afternoon
Summer sun still burning the earth
Suddenly the black clouds covered the sky
The mighty sun disappeared.
It became dark as if it was evening
Wind had stated to blow
Singers of the nature had already
Started their ballad
Birds returned to their nests early
Everybody’s eyes filled with expectation
It came with a lightning and thunder
The first drop,
The starting of a heavy downpour,
The tunes of the soul danced,
As the rain sang.
The fascinating scent of the earth,
Filled the environment.
Nature overwhelmed and the first
Rain filled!
The heart of the people with new
Hopes…
Was covered once again,
With the first drop of thy precious shower,
Giving life to world !!!

Deep in the sea
You can see me
See my lovely patterns
I’m of different colors.
Water is my life.
And my life is nice,
People love me a lot
Who am I ?
I am a fish!!!

I am honest and truthful
I wonder if anyone else is truthful too
I hear many whisper and lies
I see sad, untrusting people
I want happy smiles again.
I am honest and truthful
I pretend like lies don’t bother me
I feel bad for others
I touch peoples hearts
I worry about their disturbing lives
I cry if lies ruin my friendship with others.
I am honest and truthful
I understand how lies can really hurt inside
I say truth makes a friendship stronger
I dream a world with worthy people

Long, long ago I sailed in a ship,
A ship of friendship.
Everyone was happy in here
Joy, cheerfulness and happiness was there.
We together sailed through the storm
Of doubts and disbelief
But we together held hand in hand
And withstood the storm
But when years passed,
I was isolated from the ship of friendship
So I sailed alone
Suddenly I remembered my past,
Soon I realized the consequences
I have to face
A wild wind blew and storm came
I fell to the edge of my ship.
Another sailor who passed nearby
Held my hand and rescued me,
Again from the storm of wry and distress
But I realized that friendship is
Far more superior than loneliness.

Colors……….
How sweet they are!
My favorite color in pink
But I also like all the colors.
When I see my favorite color
I feel happy.
Colors…………………….
How nice they are .
Every where we can see colors.
We give preference to green colors
Because leaves are green.
Colors…………..
How peace they give
The white color, by seeing that
We feel peace.

A teacher is a noble friend
She gives us knowledge of modern trends,
The changes that are taking place
A teacher is said to be a philosopher.
Who preaches the truth to nurture
So that we bloom , and flourish
Where she takes the chances to nourish
A teacher is a true guide
Who makes the life a jolly ride
Through ups and downs of life today
Makes us toil with gay
Thus from the inner care of my heart
I pray to almighty to shower aplenty
All glory , comfort , calm , and health
To my teachers who are the nation's wealth.

They work in sun
For a piece of bun
Don’t chase them like hen
They have a small place like den
Invent rules and regulations
To abolish this vicious circle
Child labour should not be a fashion
They are our next generation
Give them time to sit under tree
And to sip a little cup of tea
Please leave them free
They should be happy like a bee

-->You suffered with courage
We knew not your pain
We tried to get you well
But all our efforts were in vain
With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you fading away
And tho’ our hearts were breaking
We could not make you stay
God took your hand, we had to part,
He eased your pain, but broke our hearts
Happy and smiling always content
Loved and respected wherever you went
Always so thoughtful, loving and kind
What a beautiful memory you left.

All live in freedom.
In the fruits kingdom.

Together they all stay,
Happy & Gay.

I have stored some thoughts of mine,
lend me your ears to judge this, fine!
Man proposes and God disposes,
life is a bed of thorns not roses.
Days may pass in pearls of laughter,
nights may come with gloomy disaster.
he thanks the god in gay rosy days,
But in misery unholy are his ways.
Apatient player never loses his game,
he performs his duty with intense delight,
He never minds what others say,
while the sun shines he makes his way.
Noble deed is the seed of life
nothing eclisped and all is delight.

Peacock , peacock
how beautiful you are
with all your lovely feathers
which looks like many eyes..
Peacock , peacock
The clouds in the heavens
make you tremble in ecstacy
What a wonderful dance
you perform..
Peacock, peacock
oh! what a pity
that you are hunted by some!
will you go the way the Dodos went?
I shudder to think...

When the first tears parted from my eyes
And the air was filled with my cries
Tears would’ve trickled down
Her cheeks too, to meet smiling lips..
Shattered souls have endless tears
And there are smiles for those full of cheer
Two extremes, but when together,
make the sweetest couple ever
As these came together, on her
Face most gorgeous ever
She would’ve looked prettier,
I wonder!

My little hands she would’ve held then
With warmth that felt like heaven
And would’ve kissed them, with eyes having
Both tears and joy inexplicable.
She would’ve forgotten herself
And decided to make me her world,
I wonder!

She would’ve lifted me with care
And brought me close to her heart that bear
So much love that none
But she could have for me

A beat her heart would’ve missed
When her skin my breath would’ve kissed
I wonder!

Sleepless nights would’ve become routine
To keep me happily sleeping and ‘clean’
For which she surely never regretted
As her love was selfless and divine
Perhaps she would’ve loved to stay awake
To see me smile in sleep
I wonder!

Years flew past, I realized her worth
She wasn’t jus the person who gave me birth
She was my support, my life
She was the one who taught me to live
If at all I had for ever kept
The innocent promise of not hurting her
I wonder!
As I grew up, things quite changed
I loved her more, but feelings were caged
Those sweet ‘love you’ cards, now were
Part of jus a few good memories
If at all I hadn’t restrained
My innocent expressions of love,
I wonder!
Now my world wasn’t jus she and her love
Friends and books seemed to rise above
Cards were now made for friends
And her bed time stories weren’t the ‘only good stories’

Pity it took me time to realize that
There wouldn’t be a better friend that her,
I wonder!

Annoyance and evil looks now I gave her
Instead of those warm hugs which I used to foster
But she never failed to understand
I was young, my soul easy to soil.
Why didn’t I thank her as she brought
Me back to track as I lost my way,
I wonder!
But when I now sit quiet with closed eyes,
Glimpses of her love and care always pass by
I had changed, so had my ways
I forgot my ‘soul’ in life’s race.
Tide of time didn’t take over her
Because her love was evergreen
Because she was my MOTHER.

Her touch still as warm as on the first day,
her love still as selfless
she still spends sleepless nights,
and still considers me her world.
On this special day , o Mother,
I would like to confess
though expressions have changed
I love you no less!

Your sweet smile still is the most gorgeous thing
and your hugs still arouse most precious feelings
your caring looks do always cure
my illness halfway, for sure!

On this Mother's day,I promise,
I'l fill your life with bliss
I also wont regret a bit
to spend sleepless nights for you to be fit!
I've also decided to see
YOU as my world and fill it with glee!
LOVE YOU THE MOST MUMMY!!

You wake on this morning early,
you find your stockings filled with presents,
by a man with a great belly.

There is peace all over the world,
nothing to be heard,
but the sound of silence,
and there is no violence.

you find the streets covered with snow,
and people are dressed for a great show,
you find which is this great day,
and you are happy that,
at last it is christmas day!

She has beautiful wings made of white pretty feathers her bangle murmered while she was dancing.
Her big white frock made of sweet little pearls felt a fresh warmth of angle with a gentle, kind and loving touch.
When the day is bright, full of beauty and splendor she is like a rose so fragrant, beautiful and delightful
Her deep blue eyes, look like bright blue moon in the sky
blink while she cries and her sorrows drop down as rain. By - Keerthana.P.R Class XI D (2010-2011)

I am alone in life
Like a lovely little star
I desire a life
That flows like a pleasant stream
Oh God! My God!
Let me flutter to that land
Where pure thoughts and pure
Feeling flow freely
Where I will be bright and cheerful
Like a twinkling little star
Oh God! My God! You are the only
Solace of my life.

We are having a country
greatly named
India.
Full of brave & beautiful
sons & daughters
it looks like Mysore garden
with beautiful flowers,fruits & trees.
Many were the lions
who roared for the country.
Now we are free & happy
like the fluttering Butterflies.
In our great land India

My exam was near
I was full of fear
I studied until late at night
for my answer to be right
I was frightened as never
Beacause I know I was'nt clever
I couid'nt sleep a wink.
All I did was think and think.
If I didn't pass
I would repeat the class
the next day was very creepy
And Iwas very sleepy
Finally ! at the exam table
I tried to be stable
I was very shocked
to see the clock.
For I had slept all through
that silly exam!!!
